Our team has considerable experience working with marginalized employees and approach all client interactions as trauma informed. We are an LGBTQIA+ owned and operated firm and take pride employing and working with folx from diverse and unique backgrounds. We want all of our clients to be able to authentically and comfortably work with us to resolve legal concerns.
Our team has been working for employees experiencing discrimination and other unlawful workplace conduct for almost 7 years. We are comprised of dedicated attorneys and support staff who are talented writers, litigators, and advocates. Employment law is a complex and nuanced practice area; it is important to select a law firm that understands this nuanced practice area so that the best result possible can be achieved.
Jeff has been working in the area of employment discrimination since 2015 and enjoys working with employees to resolve their employment concerns. Jeff's other practice areas include family law, guardianship law, and other matters of civil litigation. Jeff also reviews physician employment contracts/offer letters and provides physician career advice.
Jeff attended Roger Williams University School of Law where he excelled as an award-winning writer, research assistant, teaching assistant, and Judicial Extern with the Supreme Court of Rhode Island. Jeff has worked in private practice, with Legal Services Organizations, and as a law and policy consultant for non-profit organizations and Fortune 500 Companies.
Jeff has served as a board member for Rhode Island Pride, spearheaded the LGBTQ Protection Project in Rhode Island, is trauma informed, and is experienced working with marginalized individuals and bringing resolution to their legal needs.
Jeff is licensed In Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Valerie hit the ground running with her employment discrimination practice. Prior to joining our firm, she enjoyed time practicing in real estate and complex title research legal positions. She also practiced housing and family law while at Rhode Island Legal Services.
Valerie attended Roger Williams University School of Law on a full tuition academic scholarship. Valerie brings a wealth of corporate business knowledge to every case she works on. Beginning in 2018 while still practicing law by day, Valerie attended the University of Rhode Island at night to earn her Master's in Business Administration. In 2020, she graduated in the top 15% of her class with her MBA along with two certificates in Human Resources and Labor Relations.
Valerie is licensed to practice law at the State and Federal levels in Rhode Island; at the Supreme Court of the United States; and in the District of Columbia.
Sara holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and business and brings significant professional experience to our firm. Sara previously worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years before beginning a second career in the healthcare field as a medical assistant. Sara is currently in her first year of nursing school and has excelled in her transition working with us. Sara is a married mother of five who herself experienced workplace harassment and discrimination and understands the significance of this experience and the impact it can have on a person's mental health. Sara brings a compassion and understanding to her client communication that is unparalleled and she has flourished in our remote work business model.
